L.A. Council Approves Deal To Spend Up To $3B On Homeless Housing

The Los Angeles City Council has approved a deal with the LA Alliance for Human Rights Wednesday to spend up to $3 billion over the next five years to bring 16,000 beds or housing units for those experiencing homelessness. This would be enough to help about 60% of the homeless population in the 15 City Council districts.

The number of housing units and beds the city is required to build under the deal is uncertain but should be around 14,000 to 16,000 bed which will cost between $2.4 billion and $3 billion. For more details on the settlement, go to ABC 7.
