Well, we're wrapping up another year and with that comes all the lists of alllll the things that happened and were significant this year.
One list I love to look at? The most popular cat and dog names of the year. Unsurprisingly, many of the biggest names of the year were nods to pop culture moments that we will never forget.
If you got a pet this year, is your pet's name on the list?!
Rover.com released the lists of your favorite names:
Top Female Dog Names
- Bella
- Luna

- Zoe
- Lola
- Molly
- Sadie
- Bailey
Top Male Dog Names
- Max

- Teddy
The biggest pop culture moment that jumps out at me are the names Milo and Jack which are both possible nods to Milo Ventimiglia's character in This Is Us.
For cats:
Top 10 Female Cat Names

Top 10 Male Cat Names

Interestingly, a lot of the names overlap between cats and dogs!
If you notice in the cat names, though, both Nala and Simba make the top 10, which is likely due to The Lion King remake coming out earlier this year.
Other major pet name moments include "Arya" increasing by 150%, and Game of Thrones names in GENERAL increasing by 28% thanks to the show's final season.
Pet owners also proved to be big fans of the royal family. Last year, the number of dogs named Meghan and Harry both increased by more than 100 percent, this time around, their son Archie, who was born in May, gave the biggest boost. Pets named Archie went up by 45% this year, while pets named after Meghan rose by 42%.
Interestingly, the biggest jump went to pets named after Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth, at 200% and 150% respectively.
