Carrie Underwood Pumps While Glamming For ACM Award Performance

54th Academy Of Country Music Awards - Show

If you tuned into the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards last night, then you saw Carrie Underwood perform not once, but twice throughout the ceremony.

Not only was Carrie pulling double duty as a performer - debuting a performance of her song "Southbound" from her recent album Cry Pretty, but also performing alongside Maddie & Tae, Mickey Guyton and This Is Us star Chrissy Metz performing the song “I’m Standing with You” from Metz’s upcoming feature-film debut, Breakthrough. But Carrie was also pulling double duty as MOM in the middle of it all.

Yep, Carrie revealed on Instagram that she wasn't just glamming up for her performance - but she was also pumping, as her second son, Jacob Bryan was born at the end of January of this year.

Moms. Are. Superwomen.

Last night was Carrie's first return to a red carpet ever since having her second son, which was a big deal for her! If you've been following along Carrie's pregnancy and post-pregnancy journey, then you know she has been vocal about not feeling exactly like herself since having baby number 2.

She shared a photo on Instagram from inside the gym and wrote about how "bouncing back" after having Jacob has been more difficult than it was with her first son, Isaiah, who is now 4 years old.

In the honest caption, Carrie admitted that she doesn't feel like herself:

"I go into the gym and I can’t run as fast or as far. I can’t lift as much weight or do as many reps as I could a year ago. I just want to feel like myself again...for my body to feel the way that I know it can."

But she also revealed that during that specific gym session, she realized that she didn't feel like herself because her body had not been hers for the last 11 months:

"It was a perfect home for Jacob. And even now it belongs to him every time he drinks his milk."

But as the strong woman she is, she also commented that she would not let those feelings hold her back:

"As I prepare for red carpets and for life on tour, right now I make a promise to myself to start appreciating what my body CAN do and stop focusing on what it can’t. I promise to stop analyzing every angle and every curve and every pound and every meal."

As a mom who struggled with this myself, it's nice to see someone with a platform like hers talking about these real issues that so many of us deal with.

Love you, Carrie!
