Raising babies is so much fun, and there's also a tiiiiny bit of competition with your partner about who's name the baby will say first.
Lauren Conrad and her husband William Tell recently experienced the joy of their son's first word... but for Lauren, she had to deal with the fact that their 17-month-old son Liam just said his first word - and it wasn't hers.
Lauren revealed that Liam said "Dada" before "Mama" but that she thinks it's because he's taking after her in his stubbornness:
âIf I ask him, he wonât say Mama, but I know he knows how to say it because heâll say it when he wants something... Heâs learning that he can withhold things. Heâs stubborn like I am. I deserve it! Weâll have our whole family over and he decides who gets a kiss and who does not and itâs very funny.â
She also revealed that he is getting pretty chatty and likes to imitate words they say, but won't say them again.
âI think heâs starting to understand the power he holds in this. Heâs getting a little sassy in a good way. Heâs catching on. heâs a smart kid and putting things together.â
As for what this adorable family of three is doing for the holidays? They don't necessarily have set traditions yet because he is so little.
âLast year, he was only 6 months so we were still such new parents figuring it out... Weâll probably start developing them in the next couple years to be honest.â
The one thing they're doing, though, is that this year they will spend Christmas morning just the three of them, which she's really excited to do.
And as for if Liam is a fan of Santa... well, he's OK with him when they take him for photos with Santa.
âHeâs not thrilled about it, but heâs not bad.... He just looks very confused in every photo because we just just handed him to a stranger."
So sweet, I can't wait until my twins are a little bit older and able to really experience the holidays in full.
