Kelly Clarkson is sharing a rare update on her family months after the death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
The Kelly Clarkson Show recently shared a video of its host answering fan questions, including one person wanting to know about something she does every day that brings her joy. Clarkson explained that she loves to "snuggle" with her two kids, daughter River and son Remington, especially as their family has gone through "a lot" over the last year, per People.
"My kids, they're 9 and 11. Kind of that special little fun stage where they can wipe their own behinds, but they're still small enough to, like, love cuddling and love snuggles," she said, adding, "There's been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit."
Despite the sweet nature of spending more quality time with her kids, Clarkson acknowledged that it can get a bit crowded.
"It's my two dogs, my two kids and me. It's a lot," she said. "It's been really special, though, because... the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that's probably my favorite time of day."
Blackstock passed away in August 2025 at the age of 48 after a private three-year battle with cancer. Clarkson is reported to be staying "grounded" and strong for their children during this "incredibly painful" time in their life.
"Kelly is obviously heartbroken for her kids. Losing their dad is incredibly painful and confusing," a source told People earlier this month. "But she's also very grounded. She's not someone who falls apart. She looks at life realistically and does everything she can to make things as steady and loving as possible for her kids."
