Meghan Trainor gave up coffee after a surprising run-in with a psychic.
In a recent chat with People about her upcoming Get in Girl tour, in support of her forthcoming album Toy with Me, Trainor, 31, revealed that she stopping drinking coffee after her husband, Daryl Sabara, met with a psychic who warned her about "crashing out."
"The psychic never met me. My husband was gifted a session with her and she said, 'Your wife is using coffee like speed. She's non-stop and it's not helping her and she's just crashing out,'" she recalled. "I was like, 'How does she know that?' And he came home and told me and I immediately stopped... Cold turkey just stopped because I was drinking it all day to just survive and be steady and then I would crash and be buzzing at night to sleep."
But it wasn't just the advice from the psychic that led to her decision. She realized that the constant caffeine intake, as well "overworking" herself, was taking a toll on her body, as she claimed that her hormones were "so off" and that her "adrenals were shot."
"I wasn't feeling great. And I was like, 'I don't understand. I eat so healthy, I work out. Why do I feel like this?' And I realized I was overworking myself," she said.
While the first week after giving up coffee cold turkey was "tough," the "Still Don't Care" singer said the decision was "life-changing" and that she has "more energy than ever."
Trainor has been open about her health journey and 60-pound weight loss and recently explained to iHeartRadio's KIIS FM that she became "obsessed" with getting healthier after a medical diagnosis inspired her to focus on her fitness and weight loss journey.
Toy with Me is out April 24, 2026.
