Lauren Alaina announced her Grand Ole Opry induction date in a nostalgic new post on her social media channels. The “It Was Me” singer-songwriter shared a throwback photo from her Opry debut in 2011, reflecting on her journey from that first appearance to becoming a member. Alaina captioned:

“I wish I could tell this sweet, young girl that stepped in that circle for the first time on June 10, 2011, one DEBUT will become an official member of the Grand Ole Opry, and that day is February 12, 2022. I’m. Not. Well. See you there 💝”

Alaina could hardly contain herself when she learned in December that she would become an official member of the Grand Ole Opry. Country music icon Trisha Yearwood extended the invitation to the singer she calls “Junior,” adding that Alaina is the “real deal. You’ve played over 50 times. It’s obvious what this means to you. This is a very special club to be in so you have to understand what the Opry means to be asked. It’s such an honor. Country music is in good hands with you. Soak up every second!”

Yearwood — who collaborated with Alaina on one of the songs on her latest album and wrote the foreword of her book — will also return for Alaina’s induction next month, according to a press release announcing the date. Breland, The Isaacs, Riders In The Sky and others are set to perform on Alaina’s induction day.

Alaina’s Opry debut came shortly after she finished runner-up on Season 10 of American Idol. Since then, she’s performed more than four dozen shows at the legendary venue. Alaina’s Opry induction is set for February 12. See her emotional post here:
