Taylor Swift Delivers Acoustic Performance Of 'The Man' Live From Paris

Taylor Swift treated her Paris fans to a powerful acoustic performance of “The Man.”

The singer unveiled a video clip from her “City of Lover” acoustic concert in at L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix, where she delivered a number of tracks from her seventh studio album, Lover. Among the songs Swift performed for the experience included her empowering feminist anthem, on which the songstress boasts the bravado of her male counterpart to combat everyday sexism.

“I’m so sick of running as fast as I can/ Wondering if I'd get there quicker/ If I was a man/ And I'm so sick of them coming at me again/ 'Cause if I was a man, then I'd be the man,” the songstress, dressed in a sleek, shimmering black jacket, leads the crowd into the chorus while strumming the chords on her acoustic guitar.

The Grammy-winning recording artist discussed the story behind “The Man” in a 2019 cover interview with Billboard.

“It was a song that I wrote from my personal experience, but also from a general experience that I’ve heard from women in all parts of our industry,” she explained at the time. “And I think that, the more we can talk about it in a song like that, the better off we’ll be in a place to call it out when it’s happening. So many of these things are ingrained in even women, these perceptions, and it’s really about re-training your own brain to be less critical of women when we are not criticizing men for the same things.”
