Liam Payne's Producer Promises Debut Album Will Feature 'Hit After Hit'

Earlier this month, Liam Payne told iHeartRadio that he's working steadily on his solo debut LP, and it seems like Steve Mac, one of his producers on the project, has some high regards for the forthcoming release, as per his new interview with Music Week

"I've heard a lot of his stuff and I think it's going to be a great album," Mac said of the 24-year-old's upcoming LP. "I wouldn't say it's a body of work that will flow, but what I like is that it's going to be hit to hit to hit. And in my world, those are the best albums." In case you aren't familiar, Mac is one of pop's premiere producers with a lengthy resume, including Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, and even One Direction. He also produced Payne's first post-1D single "Strip That Down."

One of the LP collaborators that could appear on the project is none other than Pharrell if the former bandmate goes back into the studio to rework some of the results of his studio sessions with Skateboard P. "I wish it had been a little bit later when I was a little more settled in what I was doing. We did some songs, but Pharrell sounds cool on everything," Liam previously told iHeartRadio. "It's the same thing with his style. Everything he's saying. He's just a cool guy in general. You can't really go wrong and him on the songs sounding great, but I couldn't really put myself in the position that the song was and where the story of it was, so I want to go back there and revisit that again. It was great to spend time with a master of music and learn a few things."

As of now, there's no word on a title or official release date for Payne's debut solo LP.
